Funny because I am not really a #BaeSuzy fan even though I have watched #DreamHigh #WhileYouWereSleeping #StartUp (more for her screen partners kasi), and now #Doona (by the way, she turned 29, same age as my daughter, last 10/10) dahil na-curious ako sa mixed reviews on the acting, visuals, and ending. Definitely not mixed on the chemistry kasi meron naman sila ni #YangSeJong (this is his comeback drama after military service #Still17 #DrRomantic2). Sobrang payat ni Suzy dito, while many viewers said, SeJong gained weight. 

On the acting, well Suzy I think is ok, bagay sa kanya yung cold, aloof na character; while SeJong who plays WonJun reminds me of #SongJoongKi and #BaeInHyuk (#CheerUp #UndertheQueensUmbrella and if you will read the reviews, most of them say nakukulangan sila sa kanya. For me, he's also ok).

Actually, in the initial eps of this coming-of-age drama, naiinis ako sa character ni Doona, I know I know being an idol took its toll on her and her mental health…ang dami niyang issues (no friends, may nanay na scammer, manager na nainlove at dependent sya). The two men (yung isa manager nya played by #LeeJinWook) said it for me – she’s so messed up. So much so that kahit na parang kawawa sya, gusto mo sya sabunutan, and ayaw mo silang magkatuluyan. Instead of letting WonJun reconcile with his first love JinJu (played by HaYoung #TheGoodDetective2), isiningit pa nya sarili nya sa equation (pun on WonJun, who is a Math expert). I think I have watched a lot of dramas na nakakainis ung girl, I know I know dapat ko siya intindihin kasi nga may mental health issues siya like me, pero nakakainis siya mahalin, yung pa-fall tapos kawawa yung guy, nananahimik tapos ganun sya, grrrrr, napaka-complex. Guguluhin pa niya yung buhay, mga ganung eme. On a lighter note, dun sa bandang dulo, we see na kaibigan naman pala niya yung isang member ng Dream Sweet, yung group niya. 

And as for the ending, in an interview, Suzy disclosed that they actually filmed two versions – a happy one and an open one. And she didn’t know kung alin ang pinili ng director (#LeeJeongHyo who is also known for #CrashLandingOnYou and #RomanceIsABonusBook) until she saw the finished product. I guess, after seeing it, ok na sa akin yung open ending. Pero teka...wait, there's more!

After watching the final episode again, yes binalikan ko pati yung Intro (na inii-skip ko throughout, mali pala yun), I realized it wasn’t a sad ending after all, contrary to what fans say and are disappointed with. Bittersweet daw – not! Ambiguous daw - not! It’s actually kind of healing, full circle sya, and sabi nga, everything happens for a reason. They had to separate, get hurt in the process, learn things the hard way, grow up and be matured individuals, lagpasan lahat yun to be better persons.

Yes, please watch and PLEASE don’t skip the intros, andun po ang hints! Subtle lang, hindi siya in-your-face, but I do hope you will get it. Japan Japan LOL

 #TheWorstofEvil signing off. I have only watched JCW in #TheSoundofMagic and #YoungActorsRetreat (na variety show pa). Mas marami pa nga akong napanuod na drama ni WHJ (#18Again #RomanceIsABonusBook #SquidGame #LittleWomen #SomethingInTheRain). Pero hands down, ang galing ni #Wookie dito, I hope he gets nominated for this 👏👏👏 and I hope enough ang naging debriefing (at disinfecting sa sobrang yosi) sa kanila as actors nung natapos nila itong i-film. Matindeh mga mhie!

To confess, I have not watched any dramas with #Rowoon in it. But after seeing DWY, I binged on #SheWillNeverKnow and still in progress, #TheKingsAffection. The first few eps though, medyo naiinip ako sa character niya dito, Jang ShinYu, ang attorney na hindi alam kung ano ang gusto hehehe But the actor was beginning to grow on me. Given na yung kapogian eh (ang tangkad, yung hair, ganda ng gupit, ang ayos ng kilay, ang tangos ng ilong, ang skin, ang lashes, wala yatang hindi maganda waaahhhh Buti na lang bumisita na ng Pilipinas ang lekat, hindi muna ko iiyak). Ang challenging lang having good-looking male leads like him eh yung i-pair sila with an actress na equally good-looking, yung hindi talo at yung bet din natin (the likes of #LimYoona #ParkMinYoung #ShinMinAh). Nung una, hindi rin ako nagagandahan masyado kay #JoBoAh who plays HongJo (#TaleOfTheNineTailed #MilitaryProsecutorDoberman) becos stand-out nga si Rowoon pero sige na, ok na hehehe Another challenge is, naoovershadow ng looks nila ang talent – kaya marami nagsasabi na kulang pa rin acting nila, as in the case of #ChaEunWoo.

Like most whodunit/pasuspense dramas, may mga situations yung leads na sheesh-kakainis-sarap mo kurutin, yung mga kontrabida na ayaw paawat at pangarap yata eh maging masama forever (#Yura #ForecastingLoveandWeather), mga 2nd leads na anuveh, wag ka na dyan magkagusto plis, marami pa kami dito (#HaJun #MissingTheOtherSide), mga opismeyts na sa umpisa eh pinagkakaisahan yung bida, at mga male leads na sobrang in love sa girl (na pakipot pa, sarap sabunutan). Na meron bang ganito sa totoong buhay – poging pogi na lawyer na mayaman na may gusto sayo, risking his life, keber kung ayaw sayo ng parents nya (#LeePilMo #TheKingsAffection / #JungHyeYoung #RebornRich), and lavishing you with good things and so much attention??? Hayyyyy 😍😍😍

But we all got the ending we deserved – as everything happens for a reason, a collab of timing and destiny…

I really didn’t plan on watching this, but in between waiting for new episodes of other dramas, I found myself laughing at the first episode, and the next and the next. I initially thought it was pure mystery-suspense thriller, the genre that I go for while watching a rom-com at the same time para maiba ang mood, thus the curiosity. 

1. I have watched both leads before (#LeeMinKi #MyLiberationNotes #Decibel and #HanJiMin #OurBlues) and I thought I would give this a chance. I was actually hoping na hindi na sila lagyan ng romantic angle, pwede naman eh, after watching halfway of the season I didn’t really see the need for it. In fact, pwedeng mag-survive ito without it. Ok na yung flirting ni Dr. Bong and SeonWoo.

2. The references to  #TwentyFiveTwentyOne and #MyLiberationNotes

3. The funny odd couples: #KimYongMyung (#Island) and #JooMinKyung (#SomethingintheRain); #KimHeeWon (#Moving #Misaeng) and #ParkSungYeon (#LoveAlarm #Abyss); and #ParkNoShik #Misaeng #BackstreetRookie and #LeeAJoo #KingTheLand

4. The versatility of #ParkHyukKwon (#ATimeCalledYou #RebornRich #LawSchool #SomethingintheRain #DreamHigh) pwedeng mabait na ahjussi, pwedeng salbahe

5. Yung kakaibang culture ng Mujin community, pati yung may ibang meaning pala yung sinasabi na laging trina-translate ni DeokHee LOL

6. Yung sisterhood / posse ni OkHui  

7. Sad nga lang ang story and ending ni SeonWoo played by Exo’s #Suho, who is so charming here. Yung mga hints, nuances na baka sya ang killer, yung motive, yun pala he already figured it out

8. Yung wala kang Oppa, pero tinapos, inabangan and na-enjoy mo, this for me is tops.

9. Dr. Bong: “It’s not about what you eat, but who you eat it with…You won’t be able to enjoy even the best food in the world with someone you hate. But if you’re with someone you like, everything you eat will feel like a feast.”  💯💯💯
