As it was streaming simultaneously with #KingTheLand and #SeeYouInMy19thLife, I had to park #Heartbeat for a while to “prolong” it and savor the experience as a #Taecyeon fan.

Then when I finally gave in, I kept on hitting the Pause button again and again as I couldn’t stand the female lead character Joo In-Hae (played by #WonJiAn, #DP #IfYouWishUponMe). I found her too annoying, in contrast to #Taecyeon’s Seon Woo-Hyeol, who is too kind and gentle. Hindi ko matagalan.

Halfway through the season, or maybe a bit more, I started to forgive her. At least, may character dev. Strangely though, you don’t really see them as a couple in love. Parang magKuya lang hehehe probably because we were spoiled by KTL’s chemistry between the two leads? Sayang naman as Taecyeon really did his best in this drama. Proud na proud sya, lagi syang nagIG live to share moments sa shoot nila. Yung poging kahit magmukhang tanga, poging matanda ang fashion, ok lang sa kanyang maging goofy. I believe he did better here than #Blind. Vampire na gustong maging tao, na gustong ma-experience ang love and beating heart (thus the title), vampire na mas humane pa than a real human.

Some notes:

1. When guys fall in love – not just Woo-Hyeol but also Do-Sik (#ParkKangHyun)

2. Brotherhood and loyalty – katuwa itong mga sidekicks nya eh Lee Sang-Hae (#YoonByungHee whom you probably remember seeing in #OurBlues #ShootingStars #Soundtrack1 #AllOfUsAreDead #Vincenzo among others) Park Dong-Seob (#KoKyuPil #TheKingsAffection #BackstreetRookie #CrashLandingOnYou) and Rose (#SeungYou #THeGoldenSpoon)

3. Daming Marites at Tolits sa K-drama no? Madalas kakainis pero minsan helpful din.

Naiyak din naman ako sa huli. And it leaves you hope somehow. Hindi siya super-super na maganda or magaling but if you’re someone who wants to watch romcom – sweet, simple, fun. Ok na rin (no pun intended) because of Taecyeon.

Always, after a drama series ends, andyan si #SepAnx.

Inasmuch as I hate to compare, but #KingTheLand gives me the CLOY vibe. Hayyy yung you are wishing na sana magkatuluyan sila IRL. I used to ship #LimYoona with #LeeJongSuk (pero wala, hopeless na pala nung time nila sa #BigMouth) or sabi ko nun, kahit sino sa mga Oppa ko sana would end up with her, sa sobrang gusto ko sya.

As a #Taecyeon fan, hindi ko actually napapansin si #LeeJunHo hahahaha or siguro intentionally, kasi alam kong mapopogian ako sa kanya and madadagdagan na naman mga Oppas, mahirap sa puso LOL Pero ha, ang mga 2PM talaga, kakaiba ang arrival area. Masculine, ganda ng mga katawan. Arrrgghhhhh 😘😘😘

And together, they really do make a beautiful pair.

Yung maturity ng character ni #SaRang – yun ang gusto ko eh. Kasi hindi na benta sa akin yung mga drama na kapag You and Me against the world ang peg, yung ayaw ng family or parents sa isa, lalayo yung girl, hindi magsasabi sa guy, hindi magpapakita hanggang they lost precious time na dapat magkasama sila. Clueless yung isa kung ano nangyari. Eto kasi, mga external forces na lang talaga ang kalaban. Silang dalawa, alam mo na wala na tayo magagawa  pa. Hindi na nila pinapatagal yung issues sa relationship nila, kaya smooth-sailing. They know what they want, and they are matured enough na manindigan sa kung anong gusto nila. Wala na yung mga break-break na tayo ek ek. Basta, we will work this out. Ayun.

Mga eksenang pinaiyak ako ❣️SPOILER ALERT❣️:

1. Nagdecide si HwaRan (played by #KimSunYoung na not to be confused with the other #KimSunYoung na ajumma of the year) na hindi na sila magkakahiwalay ng son nya

2. Nameet ni PyeongHwa (#GoWonHee of #StrongestDeliveryman) ang mom ni Green Flag RoWoon (#KimJaeWon #OurBlues) for the first time

3. Nagpaalam sila kay halmeoni (#KimYoungOk na lola of the year) na magpapakasal na sila

4. Finally, Won proposed to SaRang. Na naghintay sya ng tamang timing, at hindi niya ipinilit ung unang plano / attempt niya

Yung mga heartwarming elements ng drama:

1. Loyalty ng friends nilang dalawa – for Won, si Mr. No (#AnSeHa); for SaRang, DaEul  (#KimGaEun) and PyeongHwa – iba talaga pag may support system ang mga leads

2. May sariling isip at decisions yung abeoji ni Won, yung hindi lang basta nagpapadala sa kontrabidang si HwaRan.

3. Na namana yata ni Won, kasi may sariling isip at decisions din siya at hindi basta nagpapadala sa traditions or chaebol family ek ek

4. Yun na nga, yung emotional maturity ni SaRang kaya nagwork out ang relationship nila

5. Character dev - Either their minds have been opened. Or their hearts have been broken. People change, people grow...Hopefully kinder. Hopefully for the better.

6. Won's goal to improve employee benefits / condition. As a retired employee, ramdam ko ito. Lalo na yung na-snob ka sa promotion kahit anong tumbling mo pa 🤸‍♀️. Aruy ko!!! 🤣
