RAISING MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON

Frequent anxiety attacks lately, with a major one at a mall parking lot last Friday. Took a while, no, an overnight, to recover. Hindi na nakakain. Then need mag-attend ng family affair the following day. Hindi pwedeng mag-arti artihan, dapat look and feel normal ka pa rin, act and talk as if everything's merry and bright. Di ka naman pwedeng maglagay ng placard na may "sakit" ka. Or "hindi pwedeng kausapin. Mental health issues ongoing" 😁 hirap di ba. Walang mukha ang anxiety and depression in this lifetime or in the next, or maybe in all lifetimes pa.  I look happy and fine in the photos right? 

Baka akala ninyo dahil lang busy, maraming ganap... Holiday blues are different, said to be a phenomenon but are temporary and may disappear after the holidays. Yun nga lang sabi sa research, they can affect or heavily impact those who already are struggling with mental health issues. Like us. Kaya sana, hindi lang tuwing Pasko, but always...have a heart and be kind 💜

Our Paeng Story

Hi guys!

As some of you know, after 2.5 years of battling against the C-19 virus, our household was down for 2 weeks or so. Bumigay din kami 🤒😷🤮

While Paeng was wreaking havoc on Pinas last Oct 29, Saturday, our power was off, no wifi/internet and no Globe signal pagdating nung hapon, I was praying so hard na wag bumaha sa amin or wag sanang may masira sa roof or ceiling, because nobody among us was in good physical condition na maglimas or maglinis. Sobrang init, sobrang dilim and we were not well, yung masama pakiramdam mo and hindi ka makatulog nang maayos 🤒😷🤮 wala kaming communication, even with Cae and my sisters. I was also worried na baka masiraan kami ng food sa ref. 

Thankfully, konting tulo lang which was manageable and by Sunday late afternoon, after more than 24 hours, power was restored in our area. We were still lucky I guess, after backreading and checking out Facebook posts na sobrang nakakalungkot ang ginawa ni Paeng sa kanila. Sana po makarecover na lahat 🙏 and condolences to South Korea following the tragic stampede in Itaewon 💐

We're ok now (mild cases lang, thanks to our boosters) and buti nagdeclare na walang pasok sa Laguna Nov 2-5, supposed to be Caehl's exam week, nakapahinga pa kaming lahat. Grateful for the extra days given to us, after inagaw sa ating lahat ang long weekend. Pakiusap, wag nyo na po kami inggitin sa travels at day out nyo LOL hindi po kami nakaalis/makaalis 😁

So ayun, tradition na namin na after Undas, maglabas na ng Christmas tree and decors. This is my 3rd year to use Santa Claus/Snowman/Elk/Bear theme 🎅☃️🦌🐻

Take 1

 JUST ONE TAKE. I knew from day one when I saw its poster that I will like Take One (Korean: 테이크원), a South Korean music docuseries reality show produced by Netflix starring Sumi Jo, Lena Park, Mamamoo, Jung Jihoon (Rain), AKMU, You HeeYul and Yim Jaebeom. Ang hindi ko inexpect ay yung maiinlove ako sa kanila and with their stories and songs. 

First of all, si Rain lang ang kilala ko and sabi ko sya ang aabangan ko. Akala ko it was a competition na all 7 will fight it out for the title. Hindi pala.

Each episode features an artist, and yun nga: If you are to sing one last song of yours before you die, what would it be? So lahat na ng gusto nilang gawin in performing that song, it will be care of Netflix. Venue, stage, band, director, lahat lahat na. Pero ang condition, no cuts, no repeats, no do-overs. Pag palpak, palpak.

When I found out na ganun pala format (akala ko sabay-sabay silang lalabas na tuloy-tuloy lang ang kwento) at pang4th episode pa si Rain (whom I last watched in Ghost Doctor, still so fit and hot 🔥at his age), sabi ko skip ko ba yung iba? Pero hindi. Sobrang ganda. Episode 1, ok. Episode 2, omg ang galing. By Episode 3, tindi na ng effect. Featuring #YimJaebeom who was in hiatus for 6 years, following the death of his wife, and then his father, it actually was the simplest performance among them. Pero grabe yung tama. Remember hindi ako familiar sa kanila, kaya hindi ko mawari bakit ganun na lang ang impact sa akin. 

Ang galing ng Netflix KR, galing ng producers. Napaiyak ako hanggang Episode 4, Episode 5, Episode 6. Ang pogi pa ni #YouHeeYul 😍 Tinigil ko muna kasi ayokong matapos agad. Napakaganda, napakagaling. And siguro nga, kapag may mga taong naniniwala sa talent mo, ibibigay mo talaga lahat - all in one take.

Yet To Come

MY TIME WILL COME. Seeing FB and IG posts and tweets of people having the time of their lives now in Seoul or Busan, even visiting #MAGNATE, Jimin's father's cafe, reminds me that this BTS #YetToComeinBUSAN concert is my TOTGA 😥

Since I retired from employment last May, I have been planning to go to SK with my family this October. I wanted to visit during autumn as it is my favorite season. In fact, some docs were already prepared (including my bank cert showing xxx digits 😁). Unfortunately, there were a lot of considerations (timing, embassy issues, family schedules, among others) that I had to give up the dream for now 😭 It would have been another dream come true and doubly special if I were to visit the Land of Kdrama and Kpop and watch the boys live at the same time, even for just once in this lifetime. To reward and comfort myself after all those challenging, heartbreaking moments in the past. 

Sadness is eating me now though. Omg, it is sinking in, I tried not to mind it at all for quite a while 😥 Anyways, I am still wishing everyone, BTS and Armys all over the world all the best.
