If you can time travel, where will you go – past or future?

Time travel has always been a mysterious and fascinating concept. Is it science? Is it magic? 

In #ATimeCalledYou, it is combined with the leads experiencing not just going back and forth to the past and future, but also living in somebody else’s body (one who resembles them).

At any rate, however it is executed, we are always reminded in the end that whenever we tamper with the past, our future is altered as well. This is what they call “the butterfly effect” theory. The other theory being, you cannot change destiny, everything is pre-determined. “The universe may rearrange events, but ultimately, the present stays the same.”

Whatever - hard to digest still. 😕 🤔

#ATimeCalledYou, with 12 episodes (instead of the usual 16), is said to be the Korean remake of the Taiwanese drama #SomedayOrOneDay (I have yet to look into this, so I’m not going to pretend I know about it LOL). This is my first time to watch #AhnHyoSeop (#Still17 #BusinessProposal #DrRomantic) as #KooYeonJun / #NamSiHeon, my 2nd and a half with both #JeonYeoBeen (#Vincenzo and #Glitch which I wasn’t able to finish) as #HanJunHee and #KwonMinJu, and #KangHoon (#LittleWomen and #RookieHistorianGooHaeRyung, same fate as #Glitch) as #JungInGyu. 

Aside from seeing his face in Bench stores, I became interested in #AhnHyoSeop after seeing videos of his fan meet in Seoul, where he sang English songs while playing the keyboards. I was impressed! I read that at age 7, he and his family immigrated to Toronto, Canada. He later returned to South Korea when he was 17.

I was also curious when I saw that #Rowoon of #DestinedWithYou (also streaming in #Netflix) had a cameo as #TaeHa. As the two characters have a complex relationship, the director asked #HyoSeop to recommend an actor whom he would be comfortable working with, and there goes the SF9 idol. It was said that #Rowoon didn’t charge anything for the role, but requested that a food truck be sent to him. 

Unexpectedly, I didn’t cry as much given the storyline. I acknowledge the chemistry between the  two leads, though. Maybe I was just too positive and hopeful that things will work out in the end. Or maybe I was too busy taking everything in – the visuals, the timelines, the whys, the hows that goes with time travel, and all that. But all in all, still a good watch. 

Plus I have always believed that...

When love is real and true, it will stand the test of time...
