Twinkling Watermelon tells the story of a CODA (child of deaf adult/s) boy with a natural talent for music, who travels back in time to 1995 and meets his 18-year old parents. He forms a band with his dad called Watermelon Sugar.

I never thought I would need this drama. So bad.

As mentioned in my #ATimeCalledYou review, the issue with time traveling is its impact or consequence (called butterfly effect) on the future. Sabi nga ni Master dun, the moment that Eun Gyeol stepped in the past, merong effect na agad yun.

Maraming nabago. But meron ding hindi napigilan mangyari, and maybe because it was really bound to happen. Everything happens for a reason, and yung purpose of that will lead to better things. And the most beautiful thing about it is, nabago niya ang buhay ng parents niya – all for the better. It’s actually not just a happy ending – but a happier one. We all got the ending we deserved.

• The chemistry between the two actors, as one is the future son of the other. Eto talaga yun eh. Galing ni #Ryeoun umarte. And #ChoiHyunWook. #Bromance at its finest.

• Yung discipline ng Korean actors. Talagang inaral nila mag-play ng instruments, kumanta and of course, the sign language.

• Love and music being universal languages. Maganda yung insights on learning sign language.

• Going back to the past = finding yourself, understanding and appreciating your parents and their hardships and struggles when they were your age, lifting burdens off your shoulder and probably stop feeling that you are a burden to others.

• The OST is a bonus.

• A healing drama. Reminds us again of family and friendship, hope and dreams. Na kapag nasa tamang tao ka, you will twinkle and shine higher, no matter what season it is.
